How to Specify Retrofit Kits:

1. Determine axle manufacturer and spindle style - straight or tapered. If the axle was MTIS prepped at factory, use MTIS Prepped Kit (less press plugs and stators).

2. Identify wheel size, wheel type (steel or aluminum) and determine axle count.

3. Select the appropriate style of hubcaps (hubcaps included in full ThermALERT™ kits).

4. Determine hub material - Ductile Iron or Aluminum and hub type - Standard, PreSet™ or PreSet Plus™.

NOTE: All retrofit kits are pre-set to 100psi.

How The Meritor Tire Inflation System Works

Air Supply: Pressurized air from the trailer's air tank passes through a self-draining filter to remove impurities.
Regulation: A control box regulates this air to the fleet's pre-set tire PSI.
Distribution: The regulated air travels through the hollow axle tube to a "rotary union" (also called a "thru-tee") at the wheel-end.
Inflation: Air is then distributed through tire hoses directly into the tires as needed.
